Kerala Mountain Backwaters



Day 01 : Cochin

Our Kerala Mountain Backwaters executive will receive you at the Cochin Airport on arrival and will drive you to the hotel. In the evening you will be taken to the sightseeing spots of this city popularly known as the queen of Arabian Sea. Attractions here include the Mattancherry Dutch Palace, the oldest European Church in India, the St. Francis Church and the Chinese fishing nets- the live representation of age old influence of the Chinese are some splendid watch in this region.


Day 02 : Cochin – Munnar ( 140Kms / 4.5Hrs )

After taking breakfast you can leave for Munnar, an enchanting place filled with serenity. It is one of the most heavenly tourist destinations in Kerala. In the colonial days, Munnar was the favorite summer spot for the British rulers. The breath taking spread of the tea plantations, Kerala Mountains and immaculate valleys, unusual species of flora and fauna in the wild forests and sanctuaries, the whiff of the spice scented cool air, Munnar has all this on offer and more to the visitors. In the evening you can check in at the resort. Walking around the tea estates here you could get a feel of this hill station. The night can be spent at a good hotel based on your preferences.


Day 03 : Munnar- Periyar (115 km/3 hrs)

You can go sightseeing in Munnar after breakfast. You can first visit the natural habitat of Nilgiri Tahr, Rajamala, and then proceed to Eravikulam National Park- the home of Nilgiri Tahr. From there you can go to Mattupetty Lake and dam, a breathtaking picnic spot. Echo Point which gets its name owing to the natural phenomenon of echo formation comes next on the agenda. Then you can proceed to the picturesque Kundala Dam. The golf course and the Kundala Artificial Dam are the other attractions not to be missed.


Day 04- Munnar- Periyar (115 km/3 hrs)

You can drive to Periyar after breakfast and book a hotel. Firstly, you can visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary situated in the thick forests Of Periyar in Thekkady. It is in proximity to the plantations and is one of the most amazing wildlife reserves in India. It spans an area of 777 sq. km and the thick evergreen forest spreads upto 360 sq .km in this part. The unique experience of having a view of the wildlife from the safety of a boat in the lake can be had only here and nowhere else in India. In the evening, wildlife boating in the Periyar Lake will allow you to enjoy the mountains in Kerala. Then you can be entertained by Kathakali the traditional dance show of Kerala.


Day 05 : Periyar – Kumarakom ( 125Kms ) - Alleppey ( By houseboat )

You can drive to Kumarakom after breakfast and at 12 noon you can embark the deluxe houseboat and have a thrilling journey in the Kerala Mountain Backwaters traveling from Kumarakom to Alleppey. The cruise will take you across the beautiful villages, small churches and temples and paddy fields and let you know the day to day life of these village people. Delicious dishes cooked by the crew on the boat will be served and the night is filled with fun and thrill as you spend time on the deluxe houseboat.


Day 06 : Alleppey

You can reach Alleppey boat jetty after breakfast. A car will pick you up from here and take to the backwater resort. You can take rest for the day and relax or as an option can have the Ayurvedic Massage. Evening you can visit the Alleppey beach and spend the night at a hotel that fits your budget.


Day 07 : Alleppey – Cochin ( 90kms / 2Hrs ) As per the schedule of departure you will be taken to Cochin Airport or the railway station for the onward journey to your home town. And here comes the end of charming Kerala Mountains and Backwaters trip.
